Bill O’Brien Cements Coaching Staff

As reported by Tania Ganguli, Bill O’Brien, head coach of the Houston Texans, has finally officially announced his coaching staff for 2014-2015 NFL season.  Although most of these names have been reported by various beat writers and news outlets, today is the first time an official list is available.  The biggest names on this list include defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel and linebackers coach Mike Vrabel.  The only two coaches that were retained from last season were Bill Kollar (defensive line coach) and Bob Ligashesky (special teams coordinator).  O’Brien’s staff has a good mixture of coaches with college and NFL coaching experience and even playing experience.  The Texans’ coaching staff will be paramount to the team’s short-term and long-term success, so it will be interesting to see how quickly this group meshes together. Below is the official list:

  1. Romeo Crennel (defensive coordinator)
  2. Jim Bernhardt (Director of Football Research)
  3. John Butler (secondary)
  4. Doug Colman (assistant special teams)
  5. Paul Dunn (offensive line)
  6. Craig Fitzgerald (head strength and conditioning)
  7. George Godsey (quarterbacks)
  8. Sean Hayes (assistant strength and conditioning)
  9. Stan Hixon (wide receivers)
