After missing out on a reunion with Mike Munchak, the Houston Texans moved on and hired Paul Dunn. Dunn, the former offensive line coach for the Atlanta Falcons, has a vast and impressive resume to his name. Dunn had spent the past two years as the Falcons’ offensive line coach and the four years prior to that as the assistant offensive line coach. Dunn has much experience in the college ranks, working at universities such as Pittsburgh, Kentucky, Kansas State, Rutgers, and others. He is expected to come in and shore up an offensive line that was unspectacular and inconsistent all year long. Pro Football Focus ranked the Texans’ offensive line as a unit as 21st in the entire NFL. With the recent trend of Bill O’Brien hiring coaches formerly associated with the New England Patriots, this hiring is somewhat of a surprise. Nonetheless, Dunn is will replace John Benton, the former offensive line coach for the Texans, and will bring great experience to the newly constructed Texans’ coaching staff.
