Texans Win, But Receive a Big Loss

Houston would have traded this win for a loss any day had they known that Matt Schaub was going to injure his foot and be sidelined for the rest of the season. The Texans dominated the Buccaneers on Sunday 37-9, just embarrassing Tampa Bay in all areas of the game.

From the start of the game it was apparent that the Buccaneers were not prepared for this game. The Texans score 16 unanswered points before the Bucs were able to put 3 on the board right before the end of the half. Houston opened up the second half with two more touchdowns, the second one of the day for Foster and one for Ward. Foster continues his streak of stellar performances, rushing for 84 yards on 17 carries and 102 yards receiving on 4 receptions, including one for a 78 yard touchdown.

With the Lis-Franc injury to Schaub’s foot it puts a major concern at quarterback for this team moving forward. Matt Leinart, Shaub’s backup is not exactly Steve Young, or any good for that matter. One note on the bright side for the Texans is that Andre Johnson will be coming back the week after their bye, allowing Leinart to have a great receiver for him to throw to. At (7-3) the Texans will only have to go 3-3 the rest of the way to make the playoffs, but without Schaub who knows what will happen.
